Meet the lady behind the bags
Molly Linton is the founder and owner of ‘My Funky Bags’.
Australian-born she has spend most of her working life in sales & marketing for companies such as Virgin International, Microsoft, and Christian Dior. Molly’s work took her worldwide to Africa, Thailand, Australia, and London.
Molly and her husband Eren lived in Asia for over 10 years and after leaving the corporate world of over 30 years, Molly desired to do something more
creative and work for herself.
While researching new business ideas, she came across the concept of these bags made from recycled plastic old water bottles. Molly and Eren stared working with a small family business in Asia that collects this plastic rubbish, cleans it using an eco-friendly process and turns it into new straps.
Each bags is then hand woven into Molly’s inspired designs, in an ethical workplace and they are supporting a local Asian community empowering women and the art of hand-woven sustainable bags and baskets.
Now the eco-conscious brand ‘My Funky Bags’ is fulfilling her dream and making a huge contribution to the environment at the same time.
Molly has relocated to Australia to launch ‘My Funky Bags’ after living in the UK for the past 5 years where she had 2 lovely stores on the Isle of Wight.
